TATA INTERNATIONAL'S concern for the environment is reflected in its Environment Policy and the Environmental concern measures we have taken at our leather manufacturing facilities. A Corporate Environmental Management Team looks out for any possible threats that our businesses might pose to the environment.
We believe that a concern for the environment extends beyond the allocation of budgets. We believe that if we really intend to conserve natural resources, we need to start at the grassroots level by educating our own people about it. Thus, we have developed special training programs that educate all our employees on the hazards of wastage and pollution.
At the same time, we are examining our systems, so as to optimize our processes and reduce wastage. In 2002 we acquired ISO 14001 certification from TUV, Germany, We are the first Leather manufacturing unit in India which was granted the “ECO-MARK” for our products from the Bureau of Indian Standards.
