Engineering Operations
The Engineering BU has a vantage structure - It's operating units are closest to the supply source:
- The Aluminium and Mining Industry Products (AMIP), the Iron and Steel Industry Products (ISIP) and the Projects divisions are located in Kolkata.
- The Bicycles, Packaging & Power Projects divisions are in Delhi.
- The Casting and Forging (ACF), Auto Component Division, Infrastructure Equipment (P&I), Commodity Products (Metals) and Branded Engineering Products (AS), Chemicals & Healthcare and Hospitality Services are located in Mumbai.

Aluminium & Mining Industry Products (AMIP) (Kolkata)
Supply of customised engineering products is the core competence of the AMIP Division - the focus industries primarily being primary aluminium and mining.
We are India’s largest exporter of cathode collector bars for the aluminium industry & one of the few suppliers of low carbon collector bars from India.
The product portfolio includes collector bars, aluminium smelter spares, mining spares, precision steel profiles and GE products.
The strength of the division comes from an efficient network of supporting manufacturers and the state-of-the art manufacturing facilities of the Tata Group that are present across India.

Product Offerings
Customised cast, forged, rolled and fabricated products in machined or unmachined condition for mining and aluminium industries. Some of the products that the Division regularly supplied, are given in the list below.
Iron & Steel Industry Products (Kolkata)
The ISIP division focuses on products that are primarily used in the ferrous industries - i.e. steel making units, foundries, steel plants, steel rolling mills etc - right from raw materials that go as inputs into foundries and arc furnaces pig and sponge iron, hot melting scraps etc. - to capital equipment & spares rolls and refractories used during production and further processing in steel plants.
Tata Group companies with businesses in these product segments are the core of the back end supply chain capabilities of the ISIP division. This division is also the international face of Tata Metaliks Ltd. for pig iron, Tata Sponge Iron Ltd. for sponge iron and TAYO Rolls Ltd. for steel plant rolls and has been able to build up dominant market share for these products across all regions of the world.

Power Equipment (Delhi)
This division’s focus is on turnkey marketing and execution of hydro turbine and generator packages upto 25 MW unit size capacity. We also extend marketing support, selectively to Group Companies in Transmission Lines, Substations and Water Management Projects. The Division also deals in supply of Power Equipments in Power Generation, Transmission and Distribution Sector.

This division covers spares and parts for industries like automotive, off highway vehicles, transmission parts, sugar, cement, paper, process industry, mining and coal pulverizing industries. Auto Components (Mumbai)
The focus of this division is to cater to the premium European auto market.
Its business model is based on driving down costs by compressing the existing supply chain and minimising the middle men and agents.
After market wholesalers and distributors will benefit from a dedicated, knowledgeable supplier of scale like Tata’s – which can become a one-stop-shop for all their auto component needs.
Tata International will also soon have a warehouse in Europe to further compress the supply delivery lines.
The product portfolio includes wiper blades, brakes and sub-assemblies, clutch and sub-assemblies, alternators, starter motors, exhaust systems, gaskets and filters. It is looking at partnering opportunities to export to Europe and do branded product distribution of auto accessories in India and the African markets.

Bicycles (Delhi)
Tata International has bicycle business over the last decade or so and is exporting Bicycle and Bicycles Components to Africa, SAARC and Middle East.
This division specializes in the export of bicycles and components to Africa, SAARC and countries in the Middle East.
Our bicycle models have been approved and accepted by World Bicycle Relief, USA. This sources bicycle components from a vast pool of over 100 vendors in India and China. Our warehouse in Ludhiana is fully equipped with a testing laboratory as all components are subject to stringent quality control procedures executed by skilled technicians.
Tata International exports bicycles and bicycle accessories to the Rapid programme in Africa for World Bicycle Relief (WBR). The WBR bicycle has been specially designed by Tata International for WBR and is an innovation that is patented by them.
Recently Tata International launched it’s own brand: Stryder, for the domestic market in the states of Tripura and West Bengal.
